Even if you don't take a lot of prescription drugs now, you still should consider joining a Medicare Advantage Plan in 2006. As we age, most people need prescription drugs to stay healthy. For most people, joining now means you will pay a lower monthly premium in the future for your drug plan since you may have to pay a penalty if you choose to join later. If you reach the point where you have spent $3,600 out of pocket for drug costs during the year, the plan will pay most of your remaining drug costs. This protection could even start sooner in some plans.

The 2006 Benefits "Quick Reference" guide for Antelope Valley Medical Associates can help you find what benefits you receive from your health plan and how much they cost. You can find out what your co-pay is for an office visit, or if your plan covers medications. It also give information about health plans that offer optional supplemental benefits, a description of the benefit, and the cost of the co-pay.
